I like tweaking my motorcycles. I've designed up a set of animated LED turn signals. This version uses descrete TTL logic components and a 555 timer. Perhaps a leter version will use an atmega micro controller so that I can program patterns, but for now....
Here is the prototype done up with a rat's nest of a breadboard and a panel of LEDs on a board I etched up:
Now I've done up the design in EagleCAD and had actual boards made up at OshPark for $5 a square inch. I thought the quality of the boards were outstanding.
I've ordered all of my components from Mouser and assembled the first board by hand. Using tweezers and a microscope I placed each part in solder paste na dsoldered the entire board at once using a hot plate. Here is the result thus far:
Perhaps this could begin a kickstarter project if enough people want them
